Ottawa Area SAS Users Society Executive Members
Josée Blackburn has been with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute since 1999 and with the Ottawa Hospital Data Warehouse team since its creation in 2004. Her daily tasks include supporting research in the Institute using the Data Warehouse, evaluating data quality, database management and improving SAS utilization and knowledge within her group. Josée started using SAS in 1989. Hing-Poon Chan is a Programmer/Analyst for the Statistics Division at Canada Revenue Agency. He is a member of the SAS techincal support team and the Internet/Intranet coordinator for the division. He has been a SAS user since 1979 Jason has been a SAS user since 2000 starting at Brogan Incorporated as a Programmer/Analyst of private and public health care insurer data for 5 years. He spent another 2 years as a SAS Consultant for KMK Consulting in East Hanover, New Jersey at Novartis Pharmaceuticals North America. In 2006 Jason started his own consulting firm DA Global Consultants Incorporated where he continues to provide SAS data consulting services to a variety of public and private sector clients in Canada and the United States. Yves DeGuire has more than 20 years of experience in software development. He works at Statistics Canada since 1984. He has been involved in several high-profile projects such as the Address Register and the redesign of the Labour Force Survey. Yves is currently Section Chief in charge of the SAS Technology Centre. He manages a team responsible for the the development of several generalised systems (Banff, GSAM, GES and LogiPlus) and many SAS applications. He is also busy with the support of SAS at Statistics Canada through his involvement in the « Enhanced SAS Partnership » program. When time permits, he loves doing research on various aspects of SAS technology. Winfried has over 25 years of international SAS experience, most of it working for SAS Institute in Germany and Canada as support specialist, instructor, systems engineer and consultant. In 2006 he joined the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) as Senior Analyst in the Data Quality department, where he was responsible for data processing and report creation for special studies. He is now SAS Administrator for CIHI in Ottawa. His areas of expertise include data management, database access, reporting and graphics. He has a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. John Ladds is a Technical Consultant for Special Survey Division at Statistics Canada; he has worked with SAS(r) since the early 1980s and still has a copy of the 1979 "SAS(r) Reference Card" on his desk. John works with project teams that develop and conduct special ad hoc surveys for other federal/provincial government departments. John builds customized systems on the Windows and MVS platforms using the latest SAS(r) technology. Leonard Landry is the Database Manager in the Business and Labour Market Analysis Division at Statistics Canada. Leonard has worked with SAS since it's introduction at Statistics Canada in the early 1980s. Today he continues to program in SAS as a software developer and also acts as a technical advisor to researchers in his division. Greg McLean is the Project Leader for the SAS Development Center at Statistics Canada located in Ottawa Ontario Canada. He has worked with SAS for the past 14 years. Greg and his team can be thought of as “Internal Consultants” who specialize in SAS applications using a wide range of SAS products and technologies. Greg has worked on many SAS applications ranging from generalized to customized systems using various platforms (Windows, Unix, MVS). With approximately 3000 SAS users at Statistics Canada, Greg and his team remain heavily involved in SAS technology. Daniel has been Using SAS since working in the Statistical Consulting Lab at the University of Toronto in 1978 (that would be for 1/4 of a century!). He had worked as a consultant (database management and statistical analysis) in Ottawa for 20 years and is currently on a term with the Public Service Commission. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
